Paltalk 8.0 Basic Audio & Video Setup

 

Audio Test:
  • To setup your sound on Paltalk,  - Go over to your Paltalk Messenger main window & click on the Setup menu then click on preferences,  Another window will open with some tab options at the top to click,  Click on the Audio Test tab,  There you will be able to do a sound check to see if you hear any sound though your speakers / earphones / headset,  Click the Play Sound button to check your sound level,  Move the volume slider till you are happy with your sound output volume,
  • Setting up your microphone on Paltalk,  -  From the audio test tab below the speaker test you should see the microphone test,  Click the link that says Click here & speak in to your microphone to record a test message,  Then speak clearly in to your microphone or headset / desktop microphone,  Then move on to link 2 / 3 then 4,  Once you have competed the audio test & you are happy with your speaker / microphone volume levels you are ready to listen and talk in the chat rooms Paltalk have on offer...

Video Setup:
  • Setting up your webcam,  -  First of all make sure you have installed the up to date drivers for your webcam,  You can download them from the manufacture website by looking in the user manual / user guide or CD Rom,  Once you have the drivers installed to your webcam reboot you pc & then plug your cam in to one of the USB ports on your computer if you are using a USB webcam continue with the text below,
    • Go over to your Paltalk Messenger main window & click on the Setup menu then click on preferences,  When the window opens click on the Video tab,
    • Now place checkmarks in the following option boxes,   Video Preview - Preview Window - Auto Detect (Recommended),   /   Publish my video at - Best Speed (Picture quality may be sacrificed to maximize speed),  -  Default Video Viewer Window Size - Small 160x120 (Recommended),  -  Connection Type - Auto Detect (Recommended),
    • Now click on the Start button below the preview window,  This should start your webcam & you should see the cam working in the preview window,  If dose not the first time it should give you the option to click on the Video Driver button,   Select the Microsoft WDM Image Capture (Win32) - Click OK,
    • Now click on Video Source & a window will open with some tab options,
    • Click on Capture Source & from the Select a Video Device - Select the the name / make of your webcam,
    • Click on the Device Settings tab to adjust your webcams colour brightness & contrast settings,
    • Camera Control tab - This will give you the option to set your zoom / focus & many more options for your webcam,  - (Do not panic if this is greyed out with your webcam,  All this means is that you will have to adjust it on the front of your webcam manually),
    • Click Apply then OK,
    • Now your webcam should be setup & working with the picrure showing in the Video Preview window,
    • Click on Stop now your webcam is working & Click OK,
    • You are now ready to start your webcam in all Video enable rooms on Paltalk, 
    • Click Start Webcam Icon from the top of the room & the self viewer will open,  -  (All the people that are in the room with you should be able to view your webcam),
    • To Stop your webcam close / exit the self view window...
